J.C. Brice, 90, of Greene County, formerly of Hawkins
County, was called to his heavenly home on Sunday morning at Laughlin Memorial Hospital.
He was a retired farmer.
Survivors
include six daughters: Mary "Kat" Watterson, Phyllis and Bennie Anderson, Carolyn and Jesse Barner,
Lorraine and Victor Price, Louise "Lulu" and Deano Barner, and Tina Brice, all of Greeneville; a
son: Ulysses "Buster" Miller of Baileyton; 15 grandchildren: Johnny Miller of Mississippi; Stephanie
Davis, Jason Anderson, Alexander Brice, Yeshua Price, Darrell Price, Tyras Brice, Ariell Barner, and
Brittany Barner, all of Greeneville; Bennie Joe Anderson Jr. and Kim, and Cory Brice of Knoxville;
Laqwan and Natasha Price, Angela Anderson of Johnson City, and Chandra and Willie Henson of North
Carolina; 20 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandkids; three
great-great-great-grandchildren; special nieces and nephews; and a host of special friends: Rex
Jeffers, Carmella Lee, Clarence Keller, Mark Earnis, Larry Charlton, J.D. Williams, Phillip Fellers,
and Kim Lee.
He was preceded in death by his parents: William and
Maggie Brice of Rogersville; five brothers: William "Uncle Wood" Brice, James "Uncle Ham" Brice,
Eugene "Uncle Gene" Brice, Robert "Uncle Rob" Brice, and Herman "Uncle Herman" Brice; five sisters:
Mary Fulkerson, Emma Hoard, Massaline Brice, Elenora Brice, and Louise Brice; his wife: Birdie
Brice; a son: Ricky Brice; and a great-grandson: Laqwan Price Jr.
The
family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday at Jeffers Funeral & Cremation Service,
downtown, with the funeral service following at 2 p.m. in the chapel. Elder J.L. Gudger, Pastor
Doris Miller, and Sister Clara Anderson will officiate.
Interment will
be in Salem Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will
be Cletus Miller, Charles Miller, Jerry Brice, David Miller, Joe Miller, J.D. Williams, Antonio
Barfield, Herbert Miller, Allen Barner, and Kim Lee.
Honorary
pallbearers will be grandsons.
The family extends a special thanks to
Dr. Joseph Scott and staff at Greeneville Internal Medicine Group, the staff on 4-West at Laughlin
Hospital, and the staff at Amedisys Hospice.
