Virginia Ruth Fair, 70, of Chuckey Pike, Chuckey, passed away Monday at her home.
She retired from MECO.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister, who enjoyed canning and had a passion for flowers.
Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law: Cindy Fair-Parker and husband, Tom, of Asheboro, N.C., and Kathy Brooks and husband, Randy, and Tammy Davis, all of Greeneville; two grandsons: Scott Brooks and Tyler Fair; a stepgranddaughter: Erica Gilliam and husband, Dustin; a stepgreat-granddaughter: Lexi Gilliam; three sisters and one brother-in-law: Betsy Jo Janice Samford and husband, Tom, of Hobbs, N.M., Nora Jean Isley of Rutledge, and Wanda Strong of Greeneville; three brothers and one sister-in-law: Cecil Phillips of Chuckey, Jacky Phillips and wife, Ann, of Mohawk, and Sammy Phillips of Greeneville; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Wilmer Malone; stepfather, Joe Malone; father, James Ernest Phillips; one sister, Trish Ann Phillips; and her grandparents, Tee Rone and Imogene Brown.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with interment in Fairview Cemetery (Snapps Ferry Road). The Rev. Clarence Gammill will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Tom Parker, Randy Brooks, Tyler Fair, Scott Brooks, Mike Phillips, and Johnny Fowler.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Dharmen Patel and staff, and the nurses and staff of Amedisys Hospice.
