Nancy Copp Lewis

Died: Dec. 31, 2012

Nancy Copp Lewis, age 98, passed away Monday morning at the John M. Reed Nursing Home in Limestone.

She was born in Greene County, but lived most of her life in Washington County.

Mrs. Lewis was a graduate of Washington College Academy and attended Tusculum College.

She was a member of Limestone Free Will Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law: Barbara and Arthur Laws of Chuckey; a stepson and his wife: Pascal and Delores Lewis of Jonesborough; and three stepgrandchildren: Angelia and Christa Lewis of Jonesborough and Lynn Lewis of Johnson City.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Frank and Betsy Keller; her first husband: Carl B. Copp; and her second husband: the Rev. T.F. Lewis.

There will be no formal visitation or funeral service. Friends may visit with the family at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Arthur Laws, in the South Central community.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Philadelphia Presbyterian Cemetery. Chaplain Jerry Ketron will officiate. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the service.

The family expressed thanks to the John Reed Nursing Home staff and a special thanks to Mitzi Kemp of Smoky Mountain Hospice.

Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
