Cleo Knipp Holt, age 97, of the Caney
Branch community, passed away Wednesday morning at Laughlin Healthcare Center.
She was a homemaker and an active member of St. James Lutheran Church as long as her
health permitted.
Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law:
Carolyn and Walter Renner and Mildred Allen; four grandchildren and their spouses: Brian and Doris
Allen, Leslie and April Allen, Teresa and Kim Neas, and Melvin and Scarlet Renner; nine
great-grandchildren: Brad, Brynnan, BriAnna Allen, Matthew, Makayla, and Mindy Neas, Joshua and
Sammi Renner, and Blake Anderson; two great-great-grandchildren: Raleigh and Colton Allen; two
sisters: Lillian Southerland and Murriel Thompson; one brother: Pierce Knipp; and several nieces and
nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Mark Holt, who died
in 1950; infant son; son-in-law: Neil Allen; parents: Kate Crum and William McKindria Knipp; sister:
McKindria Crum; brother: Virgil Knipp; half-brothers: Carl Knipp, Clemens Knipp, and Paul Crum; and half-sister:
Eleanor Mysinger.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Friday
at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 8
p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Larry Moore will officiate. Interment will be 3
p.m. Saturday at St. James Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Kim
Neas, Matthew Neas, Brian Allen, Brynnan Allen, Melvin Renner, Leslie Allen, and Brad Allen.
Honorary pallbearers will be Joshua Renner, Blake Anderson, Kenan Wilhoit, the
members of St. James Lutheran Church, and her friends of the St. James/Caney Branch community.
