James McGarry, age 71, of Greeneville, died Tuesday at his home.
He attended Notre Dame Catholic Church and Bridges Chapel Church of God.
Mr. McGarry retired from Greene Valley Developmental Center.
Survivors include his wife: Betty Tino McGarry; two sons: Tommy and Amy Brown and Josh Brown; four grandchildren: Trey, Tyler, Trennon and Jade Brown; two sisters: Pat and Tommy Calamari and Marie Delaney; one brother: Eddie McGarry; four sisters-in-law: Janice and Carroll Gregg, Barbara Shelton, Carolyn Saunders, and Linda Kao; several nieces and nephews; and special friends: Ralph and Louise Blazer and Eddie and Sherry Tweed.
Mr. McGarry was preceded in death by his parents: Edward and Norah McGarry; and two brothers: Harry and Michael McGarry.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. today at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home.
Funeral services for Mr. McGarry will be 2 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Jim Harvey and the Rev. Clarence Gammill will officiate.
Interment will follow in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Mr. McGarry's friends and family.
Honorary pallbearers will include the staff of Smokey Mountain Hospice, Dr. Jamie Oakley, and Dr. Mandeep Bakshi.
