Patricia Ann Jennings, 76, of
Chuckey, passed away Tuesday morning at Durham-Hensley Health & Rehabilitation.
Mrs. Jennings was a member of Philadelphia Church of the Nazarene.
She worked at Moody Dunbar Inc. (Peppermill) for 30 years.
Survivors include her "God-sent" and faithful husband of 54 years: Aud Lee Jennings;
three sons and one daughter-in-law: Ronald Lee Jennings, Thomas "Gene" and Alonda (Alexander)
Jennings, and Glenn Edwin Jennings, all of Chuckey; grandchildren: Christy Johnson of Greeneville,
Richard Johnson of Georgia, Andrea Faith Jennings of North Carolina, Brian Justin and wife,
Christina (Koerber) Jennings of Chuckey, and Timothy Lloyd Ragan of Limestone; great-grandchildren:
Heather Kesterson, Corey Kesterson, Samual Jennings, Joshua Thomas Jennings, Kayla Ragan, and Nico
Gabriel Jennings; a great-great-gradchild; brothers and sisters-in-law: Bill and Irene Light of
Knoxville, Donald and Beverly Light of Missouri, and Ronald and Linda Light of Michigan; two sisters
and brothers-in-law: Lois (Light) and Lyle Shemmerhorn of Michigan and Linda and Harold Foister of
Jonesborough; special sister in law: Anna Lee Fellers; more than 50 nieces and nephews; special
family members: Michael and Norma Painter, Andrew and Megan Painter, and Erica, Gabriella, and
Hayley Alexander; and special friends: Roy and Wanda Norton and Donna Wilhoit.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Thomas and Stella (Gosnell) Light of Johnson
City and Andrew and Maude Jennings; daughters: Maude Jennings and Lavada Sue "Pinkey" Ragan;
brothers: William "Bud" Light, Bobby Light, Kenneth "Rab" Light, Roy Light, and Dallas Light; and
sisters: Ethyl (Light) Harrison, Margaret Light, and Betty (Light) Payne.
The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Friday at Jeffers Funeral &
Cremation Service, Afton Chapel, with the funeral service following at 8 p.m. Pastor Lowell Bowens
and Pastor Clarence Gammill will officiate.
Family and friends will
meet at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Afton Chapel to go in procession to Pleasant Hill United Methodist
Church Cemetery for a 2 p.m. committal service.
The family expressed
appreciation to Dr. Odell and the faculty and staff of Durham-Hensley and Amedisys Hospice.
Pallbearers will be Mike and Andrew Painter, Bobby Hensley, Brian
Jennings, Bruce Tyree Painter, Steve Wilhoit, and Keith Hensley.
