Kevin Wayland Mathes, 52, of the Sunnyside community, died Tuesday evening at the Johnson City Medical Center.
He was a self-employed milk hauler and of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include one son: Israel W. Mathes; mother: Dolores Mathes; two brothers: David and Myra Mathes and Tim Mathes; aunts: Irene Keasling, Katherine Bowman, and Rena Mathes; uncles: Tommy Harrison and William and Wilda Harrison; nephews: Jeremy Mathes, Rusty Reece, Randy Reece, and Dustin Belt and his wife, Mandy; great-niece: Presley Mathes; and special friends: George and Lisa Cody.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife of 26 years: Libby Mathes; son: Cody Mathes; and father: Bud Mathes.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Eddie Mathes will officiate. Interment will follow in Mount Pisgah Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Richard Hickerson, Larry Freeman, Marty Caldwell, Rusty Reece, Randy Reece, and Preston Justice.
