ROGERSVILLE -- Dana Willard Lamb, age 77, of Rogersville, finished his earthly journey and retired to play in the Heavenly Choir Saturday evening at Signature HealthCARE of Rogersville surrounded by his loved ones.
Dana was born July 31, 1935, to Rogersville's original blacksmith, Bill and Harriet Lamb.
He retired from the Card & Label manufacturing business after 40 years of printing.
Dana will be remembered by most for picking tunes on his mandolin.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister: Bobbie Harris; and brothers: James Lamb, Ray Lamb, and Randell Lamb.
The loved ones he leaves behind include his wife of almost 55 years: Joda Bryant Lamb; daughters, Janet Lamb and Dean Newman and husband, Chris; son: Willard Lamb and wife, Stella; the grandchildren, who adored him: Becca Clark, Casey Clark, Amari Newman, Kirstin Newman, Scott Lamb and wife, Kandice, Jessie Hensley and husband, Mitchell, and Heather Sullivan and husband, Louis; stepgrandchildren: David Victory and wife, Karyn, and Mark Victory and wife, Jennifer; his only great-granddaughter: Gracie Sullivan; sisters: Jo Hardin, Eula Henry, Teen Russell, Frances Pendergrass and husband, Paul, Charlcie Fletcher and husband, Sonny, and Mary Price and husband, Earl; brothers: Tom Lamb and wife, Sheila, and John Lamb and wife, Jean; sisters-in-law: Catherine Smith and Sarah Shorter and husband, John; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Dana's surviving family extends to include the caring staff of nurses and doctors at Signature HealthCARE of Rogersville, where Dana was able to spend his last days. The family is very grateful for this time.
Calling hours will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Broome Funeral Home, Rogersville, with the funeral service following at 8 p.m. in the chapel. The Rev. Steve McKinney will officiate.
A committal service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Highland Cemetery.
