George H. Brannan, 67, of Mohawk, passed away early Monday morning at Laughlin Memorial Hospital.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1971, having served two tours in Vietnam from 1965 to 1967.
George was retired from Magnavox and BTL Industries.
He was a member of Bibles Chapel Baptist Church.
George was a wonderful husband, daddy, pappy, uncle, and friend, who will forever be our troubadour.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years: Martha McCamy Brannan; two daughters: Lisa (Kermit) Griffin and Angie (Rodney) Dickenson; grandchildren: Marah (Dustin) Griffin Jeffers, Kendall (Brittney) Griffin, and Sarah, Randi, Josie, and Claira Dickenson; one sister: Willie Ruth "Toby" Beach; one brother: Steve (Dori) Brannon; sister-in-law: Anne (Eric) Roline; nieces: Phyllis (Kenneth Odell) Day, Debby (Rex) Shipley, Willie Ann (Ron) Welch, and Sabra (Steve) Gonzales; nephews: John Brannan, Jim (Susanne) Brannan, Kenny Beach, Wesley (Mary) Idell, Daniel Idell, and Justin Pinkston; great-nieces: Tracy Brannan Roach, Bridgett Brannan Jones, Holly (Bob) Weems, Crystal Day, Bailey Pinkston, and Karleigh Idell; great-nephews: Jeffrey Noe, Steven Noe, and Mickey (Maria) Brown; and a special family friend: James Floyd Brannan of Knoxville.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Earl and Marie Lowe Brannon; one brother and sister-in-law: Clarence and Bonnie Brannan; one sister and two brothers-in-law: Anna and Jack Jordan and Kenneth Beach; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Calvin and Mary McCamy; and two brothers-in-law: James Richard McCamy and Roger Lee McCamy.
At his request there will be no formal visitation.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Concord Baptist Church Cemetery. Bobby Carter will officiate.
The Greene County Honor Guard and the Tennessee National Guard will conduct a military graveside service.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the service.
Active pallbearers will be Lloyd Seay, James "Tub" Voiles, Gerry "Squirrel" Voiles, John Brannan, Jim Brannan, and Kenny Pinkston.
Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Dyer, Angie Gulley, and friends of McDonald Market.
Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
