Jimmie Graham Pates

Died: Jan. 19, 2013

Jimmie Graham Pates, 78, of Greeneville, passed away Saturday at Signature HealthCARE of Greeneville.

Jimmie was known for building homes throughout Greeneville and Greene County, which led him to work with Begg Dagel and Elder Construction of New York for 20 years, building Brooks Fashion Stores in malls across the United States as a construction superintendent.

He also worked at Greene Valley Developmental Center in the maintenance department until his retirement.

After his retirement, Jimmie loved spending time with friends at Critters Corner and Danny's Restaurant as long as his health permitted.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Foy and Mary Graham Pates; and two sisters: Lovey Barham and Jean Thornburg.

Jimmie had a special lady with whom he shared his life for 19 years. She was his partner, companion and caregiver: Charlotte Bailey Isley of Greeneville.

He is also survived by two biological children; one sister: Susie Cox of Greeneville; and two very special friends: Charlie and Carolyn Fellers of Greeneville.

A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. Monday in New Bethel C.P. Church Cemetery with the Rev. Richard Long officiating.

Jeffers Funeral & Cremation Service was in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the New Bethel C.P. Church Cemetery Fund.
