Pierce F. Knipp

Died: Jan. 21, 2013

Pierce F. Knipp, 86, of Shakerag Road, Greeneville, died Monday at Laughlin Memorial Hospital.

He retired from Tusculum Monument Co. and farming.

Mr. Knipp was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife: Ruth Shipley Knipp; two sons and daughters-in-law: Larry and Betty Knipp and Randall and Janie Knipp; granddaughter: Katie Knipp; grandson: Brandon Knipp; two sisters: Muriel Thompson and Lillian Southerland; and several nieces and nephews.

He was the son of the late William and Kate Crum Knipp and was preceded in death by a brother: Virgil Knipp; two sisters: Cleo Knipp Holt and McKindria Knipp Crum; a half-sister: Eleanor Knipp Mysinger; and four half-brothers: Guy Knipp, Carl Knipp, Stephen Knipp, and Paul Crum.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel with interment in River Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Martha Beamer will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Knipp, Mike Sams, Kenneth Southerland, Dale Southerland, Ken Diehl, Elmer Tweed, and Melvin Renner.

Honorary pallbearers will be Grover Sams, David Harmon, Walter Renner, Stephen Knipp, Gene Knipp, Donald Dean Crum, Maynard Mysinger, Jerry Mysinger, and his friends and neighbors in the Camp Creek community

Memorial contributions may be made to River Hill Cemetery, c/o Edward Johnston, 110 Cooter Way, Greeneville, TN 37743.
