Gladys Juanita Price

Died: Jan. 27, 2013

Gladys Juanita Price, age 84, of Greeneville, passed away Sunday morning at Laughlin Memorial Hospital.

She was employed by Magnavox for 40 years, serving as an industrial nurse for many of those years.

She was a member of Bradburn Hill United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law: Timothy and Delilah Price and Gene Wilhoit; daughter: Patricia Wilhoit; grandson: Allen Price; granddaughter and grandson-in-law: Jennifer and Tommy Payne; great-grandson: Landon Price; great-granddaughter: Emma Price; two nephews: Blaine Scott and Willard Scott; five nieces: Eileen McAmis, Evelyn Hensley, Clara Bailey, Delores Jeffries, and Sandra Dunn and her husband, Dale; special friend and caregiver: Carolyn Idell; her special cat: "Pretty Thing"; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Teddy Price; parents: E.P. and Bertie Willett; sister: Madeline Scott; and infant brother: Paul Willett.

The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. today and from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday in the funeral home chapel. Wade McAmis and Norm Goucher will officiate.

Active pallbearers will be Donnie Bowman, Zackie Tullock, Herman Tullock, Joe Swatzell, Blaine Scott, Willard Scott, Harold Mays, Charles Mays, and Jimmy Feezell.

The family provided the following special tribute in memory of Mrs. Price: "Many years ago, I met a lady that turned out to be one of the sweetest people I ever had the privilege of meeting. She always treated me as part of her family. Some called her Mom, others called her Mamaw but I called her a friend. It was an honor to have met you. You have touched my life, as you have so many others in the past. But today, God saw it fit to call another angel home. You will live in our hearts forever, and your light will continue to shine bright through your family and everyone who met you. Gladys, your work here is done, no more mountains to climb, you earned your place in heaven."
