Ethel Marie Stills

Died: Jan. 24, 2013

Ethel Marie Stills, 84, born May 16, 1928, passed away Thursday at Life Care Center of Greeneville.

Mrs. Stills was retired.

She attended People's Tabernacle as long as her health permitted

She was a member of Statesville, N.C., Moose Lodge, and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Clarence Stills; her mother and father: Marion and Mary Ramsey; seven sisters: Essie Ricker, Norma Hensley, Opal Henderson, Rita Justice, Katherine Hensley, Dorothy Stills, Bertha Hinkle and Tilda Inscore; and two brothers: Roy Ramsey and James Gilbert.

Survivors include one special sister-in-law: Irene Stills; two brothers-in-law and their wives: the Rev. Buster and Gay Shelton and Gene and Alyne Stills; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece and caregiver: Nancy Susong; other special nieces: Cathy Laws; Mary Kiser; and Pam Hoke of Statesville; and a good friend: Bonnie Ricker.

The family received friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.

The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home chapel with interment in River Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Buster Shelton officiated.

Pallbearers were Nick Susong, Rick Susong, Bryan Susong, Pam Hoke, Scott Susong and Jordan Susong.

Honorary pallbearers were Abigail Susong, Haley Susong, Mary Jane Farmer, her friends on Cedar Wing of Life Care Center, Henry Susong, and Brandon Baskette.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718, or at cancer.org/givehope in memory of Ethel and Clarence Stills.
