Leroy Lamb

Leroy Lamb, 81, of Cassi Road, Chuckey, the South Central community, passed away Monday morning at the Johnson City Medical Center.
He retired from The Austin Company and was a lifelong farmer.
Mr. Lamb was a founding member of Horse Creek Mission Church, where he served as a trustee.
He was an avid trout fisherman and hunter.
Survivors include his wife and lifelong companion: Mary Lamb; two sons and daughters-in-law: Dennis and Joyce Lamb of South Central and Gene and Betty Lamb of Mosheim; six grandchildren, including a grandson who was best friends with his grandfather: Logan Lamb; Hannah Lamb, Jessica Lamb, Dalton Lamb, Chance Lamb, and Keema Fann; one brother and two sisters-in-law: Rowe and Mary Lamb of Nashville and Patricia Lamb of Jonesborough; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter: Mary Ellen Lamb; grandson: Silas Anderson Lamb; parents: Sile Anderson and Ethel Foster Lamb; and one brother: Glenn Watesel Lamb.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. today at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 8 p.m. in the chapel. The Rev. Kenneth Bowens will officiate.
Special music will provided by Helen Shelton, Steve Saults, Chance Lamb, Mike Smith, and Alex Smith.
A committal service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Liberty Cemetery at South Central.
Active pallbearers will be Henry Holt, Robert Holt, Michael Holt, Andrew Holt, Nathaniel Holt, Danny Payne, Walter Gunter, and Bret Dryden.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Charles Montgomery, Clifford Brown, Edward Graham, Paul Holt, Author Holt, Helen Shelton, and Johnny Tarlton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to be made to the Building Fund of Horse Creek Mission Church, c/o Carl Penley, 228 Cassi Road, Chuckey, TN 37641 or to the Kids Fishing Day, c/o Trout Unlimited, Allen Robbins, 1034 State Route 34, Jonesborough, TN 37651.
