Fred D. Key, 72, of Grassy Creek Road, Greeneville, passed away Tuesday at Bristol Regional Medical Center,
He was a dozer operator in construction.
Mr. Key was a member of Ottway Bible Church.
He loved to farm, especially with dozers and tractors, and he had a great sense of humor.
Survivors include a daughter and her companion: Amy Bingham Key and Mike Hogan of Greeneville; a granddaughter and fiancé: Brittany Bingham and Terry Willis of Greeneville; a grandson: John Taylor of Greeneville; a son-in-law: Ricky Taylor of Greeneville; a brother: Edgar "Buddy" Key of Greeneville; a dear friend: Bobby Malone; and his special companion: his dog, "Roxy."
He was the son of the late Robert Lee Key and Etta Vern Ricker and was preceded in death by his wife: Polly Key; a daughter: Etta Lou Taylor; and a son: Chris Key.
There will be no formal visitation.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Carter's Station Cemetery in the Albany community. The Rev. Claude Davis will officiate.
