BLOUNTVILLE -- Phyllis Jane Chadwell, age 61, of Kingsport, passed away Monday.
A native of Greene County, she was the daughter of Peggy Campbell Mullins and the late Earl Bitner.
Mrs. Chadwell was a member of Stone Dam United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her loving husband: Joseph Frank Chadwell; mother: Peggy Campbell Mullins; her sons and their wives: Robert and Paige Shipley of Kingsport and Brandon and Kristen Chadwell of Greeneville; daughters: Kimberley Campbell of Kingsport and Cynthia and Rufus Jennings of Weber City, Va.; grandchildren: Ashley Cox, Michael Cox, Melody Chadwell, Lily-Ann Chadwell, and Brooklyn Ward; brothers: Billy Mullins and wife, Vicki, of Greeneville; sister: Delorse Hensley and husband, Claude, of Greeneville; brother-in-law: Steve Lauderback; other special brothers and sisters: Carolyn Ottem, Linda Duncan, Dorthy Cox, Brenda Couch, and Jimmy Dale Campbell; a special cousin and friend: Judy Myers; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister: Linda Kay Lauderback; and special brother and sisters: George Campbell, Geneva Taylor, and Betty Bishop.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Tri-Cities Funeral Home Chapel, 2630 Highway 75, Blountville, with funeral services being conducted at 8 p.m. The Rev. Rufus Jennings will officiate.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in Tri-Cities Memory Gardens.
The family expressed thanks to Dr. Keith Cook, Dr. Albertine Dewit, Dr. Jeff Farrrow, Dr. Mark Count, Dr. Shelby Shaw, and the staff at Indian Path Hospital for their love and care.
