Died: Feb. 8, 2013

Helen "Taddy" Mathes, 85, of Cassi Road, Chuckey, in the South Central community, passed away Friday at the Johnson City Medical Center.

She was a homemaker and the widow of Silas Mathes.

Mrs. Mathes was a member of Casi Full Gospel Church.

Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law: Harmon "Doodie" and Ruth Mathes and Leo Mathes of South Central; grandson: Jeffery Mathes of South Central; great-grandson: Jeremy Mathes; two brothers and one sister-in-law: Henry Masters and James and Betty Masters of South Central; one niece and her husband: Sheila and Roger Burgner of Chuckey; two great-nieces and two great-nephews: Amber Burgner, Tyler Burgner, Whitney Burgner, and Braxton Burgner; one great-great-nephew: Blake James Smith; and a special friend and caregiver: Modeesta Hensley.

She was the daughter of the late Dana and Linnie Bailey Masters and was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Kate Brown Masters.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. today at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home and 1-2 p.m. Sunday at Casi Full Gospel Church.

The funeral service will follow visitation at the church at 2 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Dr. Jim Fields and the Rev. Shawn Broyles will officiate.

Interment will be in Liberty Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Sammy Henley, Michael Hope, Jimmy Hope, Clay Kyker, Earman Foster, and Eddie Grayson.
