Died: Feb. 10, 2013

Denise Thompson Simpson, 54, of Melody Road, Greeneville, passed away Sunday at her home.

She worked in customer service for a call center.

Mrs. Simpson was a member of Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a daughter: Melissa Hughey of Greeneville; a son and daughter-in-law: Jason and Pam Smith of Greeneville; her mother: Odell Thompson of Greeneville; grandchildren: Michael Smith, Madison Smith, and Gwen Smith; her mother-in-law: Vivian Simpson of Church Hill; two stepdaughters: Katie Simpson and Evelyn Reeves and husband, Daniel, of Columbus, Ohio; a brother-in-law: Ben Simpson and wife, Cindy, of Rogersville; two sisters-in-law: Barbara McCann and husband, Mike, of Bayfield, Wis., and Jill Simpson of Freemont, Ohio; her special friends: Mary Sexton and Elizabeth McAmis; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; and her dog: Sadie.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Simpson; her father, John Thompson; a brother, Michael Thompson; and a sister, Connie Thompson.

The family will receive friends from 1-3 and 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home with the funeral service following at 7 p.m. in the chapel. The Rev. Bill Rimmer will officiate.

The family will also receive friends at the home of her mother, Odell Thompson, 210 Melody Road, Greeneville.

Family and friends will meet at 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home to go in procession to Cross Anchor Cemetery for a 10 a.m. committal service.

Pallbearers will be Benny Simpson, Steve Jobe, Randy Jobe, Junior Marshall, Brandon Marshall, and Josh Marshall.

The family extends a special thanks to the staff of Amedisys Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
