Isabel Cather Sites

Died: Feb. 11, 2013

Isabel Cather Sites, 97, of Jefferson City, formerly of Greeneville, passed away Monday morning at Jefferson County Nursing Home.

She was born Jan. 30, 1916, on the family farm near Butler, Ind. She was born the sixth child of seven to the late R.D. and Atlanta Cather.

She was a teacher in Indiana schools for 20 years.

She and her husband, the late Byron Sites, moved to Greeneville in 1954. Mr. Sites was a vice president with Magnavox. He passed away in 1982.

Mrs. Sites was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and attended as long as her health permitted. She was a member of Youth Builders.

Survivors include one son: Tom Sites; three grandchildren: Tina and Tim Leonard of Dallas, Texas, John Sites and fiancée, Karen Srabacic of Silverton, Colo., and Russell Sites and fiancé, Laura Joseph, of Atlanta, Ga.; and great-grandchildren: Lisa Leonard and Dean Leonard.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.

The family will receive friends from 1-2:15 p.m. Friday at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Oak Grove Cemetery. The Rev. Andrew Whaley will officiate.
