Darrell 'Bones' Powers
Died: Feb. 14, 2013 Darrell "Bones" Powers, 45, of the
Mount Carmel community, passed away Thursday at his home. He was a
loving husband, father, and friend. He raised many children that were not his own. He will be sadly
missed by many. Survivors include his wife of 25 years: Tammy Casey
Powers; two sons: Joshua Powers and Ryan Powers and his fiancée, Lyndsay Nelson; two daughters:
Caitlin Powers and Macy Dixon; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Bill and Brenda Mathes and Robert
and Darlene Mathes; two sisters: Karen Powers and Amanda Bitner; and several nieces, nephews,
aunts, and uncles. He was preceded in death by his parents: Brenda
Collier and Dean Powers; and his mother and father-in-law: Lester and Patricia Mathes.
The family will receive friends from 1-3 and 5-7 p.m. today at Jeffers
Funeral & Cremation Service, Afton Chapel. The funeral service
will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Afton Chapel. The Rev. Danny Ricker will officiate.
Interment will be in GraceLand Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Robert Mathes, Billy Mathes, Ryan Powers, James McMahan, Guiatana
Buzzita, and Benjamin McMahan. Honorary pallbearers will be J.T. and
Sonya Highfield and Melvin and Sheila Broyles.
