Died: Feb. 15, 2013

SUMMIT, Miss. - Lola J. Boone, 84, died Friday at her home on Chapel Drive in Summit.

Mrs. Boone was born Oct. 2, 1928, in Greeneville, Tenn., and was a daughter of the late Frank and Annie Brown Baskette.

She was of the Nazarene faith and was a member of Lifepointe Community Church of the Nazarene.

She was an avid reader, who wrote many articles that were published in various magazines and was the author of a book of poems called "Home on Stage Road."

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years: A.D. Boone; daughters: Cindy Boone Myers and husband, Eddy, of Smithdale, and Annie Jenny Boone of Brookhaven; sister: Lena Colyer of Greeneville; grandchildren: Lisa Myers Prestridge and husband, Lance, and LeAnna Myers; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister: Edith Baskette; and two brothers: Leonard and Clifford Baskette.

Visitation was held prior to an 11 a.m. service Saturday at Lifepointe Community Church of the Nazarene in McComb.

A graveside service followed at Concord Baptist Church (McCall Creek) Cemetery. Bro. Kelvin Boone and Bro. Keith Matthews officiated.

Catchings Funeral Home (Summit location) handled the arrangements.
