Frank Silvers

Frank Silvers, 88, of Limestone, passed away Monday at Erwin Health Care Center.
Frank was a longtime resident of the Limestone community. He was an extremely hardworking farmer, who derived great pleasure from his work efforts.
He had a special talent in working with machinery of all types.
He loved gardening, planting in his greenhouse, and sharing the fruits of his labor with neighbors, friends and family.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years: Concetta "Connie" Silvers; a daughter: Lin McGaw and husband, Ray Tankersley; a son: Ted Silvers and wife, Diane Silvers; nine grandchildren: Charles McGaw, Rob McGaw and wife, Holly McGaw, Elisabeth McGaw, Rachel Silvers, Rebecca Silvers, Brad Silvers and wife, Dana Silvers, Shelly Silvers, Amy Langston and husband, Allen Langston, and Tim Silvers and wife, Amy Silvers; seven great-grandchildren; a sister: Pauline Miller; and a brother: Fred Silvers.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother: Mayfray and Turner Silvers; a sister: Irene Weaver; and a son: Ralph Silvers.
A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Jeffers Funeral & Cremation Service, Afton Chapel. The Rev. Craig Ponder will officiate.
The family will receive friends at the Afton Chapel immediately following the memorial service.
Interment will be held at a later date.
