Carolyn Elizabeth Carson

Died: Feb. 19, 2013

JONESBOROUGH -- Carolyn Elizabeth Carson, age 88, of Limestone, passed away Tuesday at Lakebridge Healthcare Center.

A native of Washington County, Mrs. Carson was a daughter of the late Wayne and Ada Smith Patton and the widow of James Fred Carson.

She was a member of Limestone Church of the Brethren and attended Telford Grace Brethren Church.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: Tim and Kathy Carson of Limestone; daughter and son-in-law: Judy and Tony Clift of Strawberry Plains; grandchildren: Tonya Andrew of Sevierville, Aaron Clift of Strawberry Plains, Megan Stinnett (Gary) of Sevierville, Claudia Haws (Ben) of Johnson City and Laura Ore (Thomas) of Estill Springs; great-grandchildren: Anna Grace Andrew, Lilly Stinnett, Ella Stinnett, and Emery Haws; one sister: Jane Osborne of Telford; and several nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by three sisters: Ruth Patton, Marie Lewis and Erma O'Dell; and one brother: John Patton.

The family extends a special thank you to the staff of Lakebridge Healthcare Center and caregivers, Elsie and Tammy.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home in Jonesborough with the funeral service following at 7 p.m. in the chapel. Pastor Jim Griffith and Pastor Bob Skeen will officiate.

A committal service will be held at noon Saturday in Providence Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Aaron Clift, Ben Haws, Thomas Ore, Gary Stinnett, Marty Osborne, and Wayne Lewis.

The family will receive friends at other times at the home of Tim Carson.
