Jessica Faith Thomas, age 32, of Johnson City, formerly of Greeneville, passed away peacefully at her home Tuesday afternoon after a year's battle with cancer.
She is the daughter of Dinah Rhea and Richard Thomas.
She is also survived by one daughter: Katherine Thomas of the home; a special friend: Kevin Reid; brothers: Isaac Thomas, David Thomas and Joseph Thomas; several aunts, uncles and cousins; grandmother: Imaline Thomas; and a host of friends.
She attended Northeast State Community College with a 4.0 average and was working toward being a psychiatric nurse practitioner when she became ill.
She was employed by Core Services of Johnson City, caring for intellectually disabled adults in their homes as long as her health permitted. She was a wonderful friend to her clients and everyone she met and she loved everyone unconditionally.
She attended Christian Assembly United Pentecostal Church at Adamsville and Greeneville Cumberland Presbyterian Church as a child.
She was a lifelong student of the Bible and renewed her faith and relationship with the Lord during her final illness.
She enjoyed Zumba, was a voracious reader, and loved taking care of everyone with her wit and wisdom.
There will be no formal visitation or services at her request.
A party in celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
As a final example of her selfless and giving nature, she has donated her body
to Quillen College of Medicine.
Memorials may be made to the Greene County Food Bank for its cancer fund.
