Max Keith Gass, 70, of the Wesley's Chapel community, died Friday at Takoma Regional Hospital.
He was a retired machine operator with 30 years of service with Alltrista Ball Zinc, now known as Jarden Zinc Products.
Mr. Gass was a faithful member of Living Life Fellowship.
Survivors include: a son and daughter-in-law: Johnnie "Keith" and Debra Gass; grandchildren: Jeremiah David Noah Dotson, Hannah Gass, and Issac Max Keith Gass; a daughter and son-in-law: Aundrea and Nick Gunter; an expected grandson in July; brothers and sisters-in-law: Bill and Janice Gass, and Ray and Shirley Gass; a brother-in-law: Jim Starnes; and several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews, including a special nephew: Jamey Palmer.
He was the son of the late Noah and Audrey Chapman Gass and was preceded in death by four brothers: Junior Gass, Joe Paul Gass, Hugh Gass, and Evans Gass; two sisters: Eva Starnes amd Fannie Henry; and a daughter: Marla Ann Gass.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 6 p.m. Monday at Jeffers Funeral Service Downtown, with the funeral to follow immediately in the chapel.
The Rev. Jerry Gunter and the Rev. Steven Jones will officiate.
Private burial services will take place in Cross Anchor Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Cecil Malone, Joe Ormsbee, Jaquay Davis, Robbie Britton, Mark Britton, Danny Weems, Jamey Palmer, and Jeff Gibson.
Honorary pallbearers will be his friends at Porters Grocery, Baileyton Restaurant, Dr. Aasheim and staff, the third-floor staff at Takoma Regional Hospital, and his former co-workers at Alltrista Ball Zinc.
