KNOXVILLE -- Mary Grace McAmis Ricker passed away Sunday.
Born Feb. 26, 1927, in Chuckey (Greene County) and married to Thomas Ricker on June 18, 1942, Mom stepped into the loving arms of Jesus on March 10.
She was a member of Powell United Methodist Church. She served as a Sunday School teacher for many years, member of United Methodist Women, Fidelis Class, the XYZ's and REACT and 10-4 radio clubs, where she held a two-meter ham radio license.
She served as a Girl Scout leader for the Powell community and loved to crochet and spend time with family.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mae McAmis; father, Ward McAmis, and brother, Howard McAmis.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 70 years: Thomas J. "Tom" Ricker; children: Thomas "Tom" A. (Ursula) Ricker, Anne Ricker, Lynne (David) Bartlett, Beverly (Steve) Jones, and Kendall (Cindy) Ricker; grandchildren: Tommy and Audia Ricker, Karl and Shanna Ricker, Courtney Bartlett, Andrew and Stephanie Bartlett, Zach and Cassie Jones, Nathan Jones, and Grayson Ricker; great-grandchildren: Adrian and Lauren Ricker, Alex Ricker, Corban Bartlett, and Kenny and Bridget Erman; sister-in-law: Lois McAmis; nephews and nieces: Mike McAmis, Mary Smith, Glenn and Mary Ann Willett, and Jim Willett; and other special friends and relatives.
The family would like to acknowledge the staffs of Ben Atchley Veterans Home and Tennova North for their loving care.
Visitation with family will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Powell UM Church, 323 Emory Road, Powell, with a celebration of life service to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Powell UM Church Food Pantry.
