Bobby K. "Papaw" Seay, 67, of Midway, succumbed to lung cancer on Tuesday at his home surrounded by his family.
He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Mosheim.
He loved his Lord and attended church as long as his health permitted.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years: Beverly Seay; their four children and eight grandchildren: Crystal and Carroll Pierce, and their children: Phillip Seay and Stephanie Bunch, Dustin Roark, and Chase Pierce; Scott and Jennifer Seay, and their children: Destiny, Bradyen, and Sarah; Travis Seay and Brenda Godfrey, and his children: Dylan and Makayla Seay; and Brad Seay of Midway; sister and brothers and their families: Linda Carter and husband, Sam, of Mosheim, Earnest Seay and wife, Janet, of Midway, Dale Seay and wife, Phyllis, of Las Cruces, N.M., and Sandy and Sammy Murdock of Mosheim; and his special friends: Marion Duncan, Helen Perry, and Betty Duncan of Kentucky, Joyce and Bill Hommel of Newport, and David Gunther and Jeff "Buffalo" Lawson of Midway.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Mary and Homer Seay; and brother: Jackie Seay.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at Jeffers Funeral & Cremation Service, downtown.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at McMillian Free Will Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery. Pastor Chris Howell and Pastor John Ricketts will officiate.
Pallbearers will be David Gunther, Travis Seay, Carroll Pierce, Phillip Seay, Dylan Hale, and Dustin Roark.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Dharmen Patel, his Sunday school class at Grace, and the staffs of Smoky Mountain Hospice and Laughlin Home Health.
