Charlie Earl Jones

Died: March 13, 2013

Charlie Earl Jones, 67, of the McDonald community, Mohawk, died Wednesday afternoon at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport.

He was employed by his good friend, James Crews, at Greene County Block Company.

Mr. Jones was a quiet, simple, loving man. He was a loving and caring husband of 47 1/2 years.

Not having any children of his own, his nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews were all very special to him.

He was an avid fisherman and hunter, and loved gardening.

Survivors include his wife: Peggy Jones; two sisters and one brother-in-law: Louise Everhart and Betty and Bill Carrier; one brother and sister-in-law: Roy and Shirley Jones of Greene County; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Lucy Jones Long and Nancy Jones of Greene County, and Patsy and Larry Yerkes and Jim Harris of Indiana; and a special neighbor: Jesse Wolfe.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Auther and Georgie Jones; and two brothers: Bill Jones and Wilbur Jones.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Saturday at the Mosheim Chapel of Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home.

Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mosheim Chapel with the Rev. Rocky Everhart officiating.

Interment will be in Mount Sinai Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be nephews.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Richard Aasheim and his nurse, Phyllis, and the staffs of Mosheim Station of EMS, and Holston Valley Medical Center.
