Died: March 28, 2013

Paul Edward Painter, 43, of Chuckey, in the South Central community, passed away early Thursday morning at the Johnson City Medical Center.

He was a retired employee of Plus Mark Inc.

Mr. Painter was a dedicated member of Liberty Free Will Baptist Church, where he served as deacon and Sunday School teacher for sixth, seventh and eighth grades.

He enjoyed doing family history and singing. He also loved being with his family and visiting his many friends in the community.

Survivors include his wife: Doris Guinn Painter; his parents: Walter and Karen Painter of South Central; his brother: Cleve Painter of South Central; his mother-in-law: Frances Guinn of Hampton; a sister-in-law: Lucy Bryant and husband, Danny, of Unicoi; two brothers-in-law: Harley Guinn and Samuel Guinn, both of Hampton; two nephews: Matthew Bryant and Joshua Bryant and wife, Nikki, all of Unicoi; a great-niece: Danielle Bryant of Unicoi; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Ferrin and Ruth Wyatt Painter and Paul and Sally Hensley Garland; and his father-in-law, Harley Guinn Sr.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at Liberty FWB Church. The Rev. John Buchanan and the Rev. Stephen Saults will officiate.

The body will be taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Jason Bowers, Danny Bryant, Matthew Bryant, Joshua Bryant, Bobby Seaton, Neal Garland, Jason Shanks, and John Morgan.

Honorary pallbearers will be the members of his Sunday School class and the deacon board of Liberty FWB Church.
