Ruth Mae Thomas

Died: March 31, 2103

Ruth Mae Thomas, age 75, of Old Cemetery Road, Greeneville, passed away Sunday at the Johnson City Medical Center.

Mrs. Thomas was a homemaker.

She was a member of Campground Church of God.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years: James L. Thomas; three daughters and sons-in-law: Sherrie and Angelo Miranda of Chula Vista, Calif., Rebecca and Nicasio Lagares of Rochester, N.Y., and Diana and Shawn Monette of Chuckey; two sons and one daughter-in-law: James and Laurie Thomas of Batavia, N.Y., and Curtis Thomas of Wuhan, China; eight grandchildren and spouses: Jennifer and Pete Mick, Andy Lagares, Adrian Thomas, Leah and Don Buckle, Sisca Craft, Jessica McBride, Stephanie Trapp, and Sean and Falecia McBride; 18 great-grandchildren; a brother: Phillip Cady; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Harold and Elva Cady; brothers: Harold and Robert Cady; and sisters: Greta Tyra, Dorothy Vrooman, and Mary Lou Fitzgerald.

There will be no formal visitation. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at Campground Church of God with the Rev. Larrie Pike officiating.

The family expressed a special thanks to the Greeneville community, all her fellow church members, the seventh floor staff at Johnson City Medical Center, and to Dr. Ahmed Kahn.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, Living Legacy Partnership, P.O. Box 409410, Atlanta, GA 30384-9410

Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
