Thomas A. Naggs

Died: April 3, 2013

Thomas A. Naggs, 82, of Greeneville, passed away Wednesday at his home.

Born Nov. 2, 1930, in Keokuk, Iowa, he was the son of the late Thomas H. and Mabel Naggs.

Mr. Naggs was an avid golfer and traveler.

He owned and operated Putt-Putt Family Fun Center in Fredricksburg, Va., before taking a semi-retirement in Orlando, Fla.

He later moved to Greeneville to pursue his love of golf at Link Hills Country Club. Mr. Naggs was the executive director of Chambers of Commerce in Illinois, Iowa, Pennsylvania and Virginia.

He graduated from Parson's College in Fairfield, Iowa.

Mr. Naggs was in the U.S. Army National Guard.

He had a love for jazz music and played the trombone in his own band in high school and college.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years: Marlyn Naggs; a son and daughter-in-law: T. Michael and Debbie Naggs; three daughters and a son-in-law: Barbara Naggs Hall of Bristol, Va., Susan and Gene Allen of Lynchburg, Va., and Judy Naggs of Atlanta, Ga.; his grandchildren: Christopher Farinacci, Chad Farinacci, Tommy William Naggs, Christine Allen, and John Allen; a sister: Sally Mayes of Denver, Colo.; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Bill and Ruth Naggs of Hot Springs Village, Ark., and Bob and Jan Naggs of Salem, S.C.; and several nieces and nephews.

The body will be cremated.

The family will have a celebration of life at Link Hills Country Club at a later date.
