Died: April 4, 2013

Mary Lois Johnson, 86, of Price Lane, Greeneville, passed away Thursday at Laughlin Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Johnson had worked in hospital dietary at Takoma Regional Hospital and the former Greeneville Hospital.

She was non-denominational in her faith.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law: Kathy and Kenneth Pickering; a son and daughter-in-law: Wayne and Earleen Johnson; grandchildren: Stacy Johnson, Andrew Johnson, Phillip Johnson, Scottie Pickering, Jennifer Chambless, and Ashley Johnson; great-grandchildren: Patrick, Michael and Connor Pickering, Tristin and Brennan Casebier, Ethan Chambless, Dillon Soto, Halee and Sapphyre Johnson, Autumn and Summer Johnson, and Hanna, Addie, and Bella Johnson; several nieces and nephews; and a longtime friend: Janie Johnson.

She was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Bessie Jones Smelcer and was preceded in death by her husband: J.L. Johnson; a daughter: Phyllis Johnson; a son: Harold Johnson; and two brothers: J.C. Smelcer and Perry Smelcer.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home with the funeral service following at 8 p.m. in the chapel. The Rev. Ken Thacker and the Rev. Claude Smith will officiate.

Family and friends will meet at noon Saturday at the funeral home to go in procession to Carter's Chapel Cemetery for a 1 p.m. committal service.

Pallbearers will be Stacy Johnson, Andrew Johnson, Phillip Johnson, Scottie Pickering, Patrick Pickering, and Ronnie Jones.

Her great-grandsons will be honorary pallbearers.
