Died: April 3, 2013

Loyd Berlin Shelton, 68, of Old Stage Road, Chuckey, passed away Wednesday.

He retired from Magnavox after more than 30 years.

Mr. Shelton a U.S. Army veteran and retired from the Army National Guard.

He was a member of Middle Creek Church of God. He loved his church family.

Mr. Shelton was a member of the Hunting and Fishing Club and NRA.

Survivors include his wife: Alice Shelton; two sons: Gregory Allen Shelton, and Russell Lee Shelton; a daughter: Donna Sue Fann; three stepdaughters: Sherry McKinney, Karen Hice and Lakeshia Nicole Dotson; five grandsons: Holden Allen Ray Shelton, Tryston Shelton, Eric Adams, Nichols Ryan Adams and Dakota Ricker; two granddaughters: Megan Shelton and Heather Hice; several great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister: Mary Joyce Johnson; and a special dog: Mocha.

He was a son of the late Lee and Altha Shelton and was preceded in death by six brothers: Edd, Fred, Guy Travis, Paul, and Carroll Shelton; and four sisters: Stella Shelton Ramsey, Wilma Shelton Ray, Faye Kelton, and an infant, Helen Shelton.

The family will receive friends from 1-3 and 5-7 p.m. today at Jeffers Funeral & Cremation Service, Afton Chapel.

The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Afton Chapel with interment in GraceLand Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Robert Lee Johnson will officiate.

The Greene County Honor Guard will conduct a military graveside service.
