Died: April 7, 2013

Louise M. Peters, 85, of the Pleasant Vale community, passed away Sunday at Takoma Regional Hospital.

She was a member of Pleasant Vale Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law: Carolyn and George Bowers and Nancy and Ronald Jennings of Pleasant Vale; four grandchildren: Penny Babb and Beth Barr and Donald McAfee of Chuckey, Bill and Candy Jennings of Greeneville, and Kathy and Robbie Belt of Afton; five great-grandchildren: Ryan Babb, Dustin and Breanna Barr, Carter Jennings, and Daimien and Cameron Belt; two special people in her life: Scott Holly and Donald McAfee; and several half-brothers, half-sisters, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years: Luke Peters; son: Roger Peters; father: William Jones; Mother: Edna Hensley; and two brothers: Jack Jones and Earl Jones.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at Jeffers Funeral & Cremation Service, Afton Chapel, with the funeral service following at 8 p.m. in the chapel. The Rev. Richard Bowers and the Rev. Tim Roach will officiate.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Pleasant Vale Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Bill Jennings, Robbie Belt, Ryan Babb, Dustin Barr, Scott Holly, and Dustin "Lil D" Edwards.

Honorary pallbearers will be Howard Collins, Bloomie Franklin, Lynn Grubbs, Larry Lamons, Chris Bowers, and Chad Barr.

The family expressed thanks to the staffs of Durham-Hensley Health & Rehab and the third floor at Takoma Hospital.
