Aretta Carson

Died: April 11, 2013

Aretta Carson, age 93, of Greeneville, passed away Thursday at Signature HealthCARE.

She was a member of Tabernacle Presbyterian Church and the Missionary Women of the church.

She retired from MECO.

Her passion and hobby was growing flowers.

Survivors include a son: Leon Carson; daughter and son-in-law: Victoria Carson-Duty and Damon Duty; grandson: Lamar Carson; four great-grandchildren: Brittany Davis, Tionna Carson, Miranda Carson, and Jordan Carson; four sisters and a brother-in-law: Evon Wallace, Alma Cole, Anita Nixon, and Louise and Edward McCoy; one brother: Robert Broyles Jr.; several nieces and nephews; and special friends: Anna Dale and Gene Maddox

She was preceded in death by her husband: Leon Carson Sr.; three sisters: Linda Chapman, Mary Tyler, and Haskell Broyles; and her parents: Ernestine and Robert Broyles Sr.

The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, April 20, at Jeffers Funeral & Cremation Service with the funeral service following at 3 p.m. in the chapel. The Rev. John Catts and Anna Maddox, minister, will officiate.

Interment will follow in Rheatown Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Walter Maddox, Gene Maddox, Michael Hollerman Jr., Chad Moore, Eddie Lee Jordan, Marcellous Rogers, and Aaron Rogers.

The family expressed special thanks to Signature HealthCARE and Naasha Dabbs, Christy, and Michelle Anderson.
