William Guy Morgan

Died: April 14, 2013

William Guy Morgan, 87, of Poor Farm Road, the Bradburn Hill community, passed away Sunday at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was disabled.

Mr. Morgan attended East Side Baptist Church as long as his health permitted.

He was the last remaining child of Hiram Hunter and Susie Lauderdale Morgan. He had a song in his heart and always had a smile for each person he met.

He is survived by special caregivers, his nieces and nephews who were like brothers and sisters to him: Betty and Jimmy Feezell, Charles Turner, David Turner, and Eddie Turner, all of Greene County, Leonard and Mary Turner and Cecil Turner of Clayton, Ga.; as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a devoted sister: Ruby Turner, who provided a home for him for 50 years; and other sisters and brothers: Martha Bullington, Edna Moore, Effie Hensley, Flora Bolinger, Brumley Morgan, James Scott, and Paul Scott.

The family expressed a special thanks to the staff of Caris Hospice, Faye Shelton, RN, and Karleen Kilday.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with interment in Bradburn Hill Cemetery. Pastor Nick Bailey and Pastor David Fox will officiate.

Nephews and great-nephews will be pallbearers.

Anthony Morelock and Bruce Stafford will be honorary pallbearers.
