Died: April 21, 2013

Lynn Wilhoit, 91, of Four Oaks Health Care Center in Jonesborough, formerly of the Horse Creek community, passed away Sunday at the Johnson City Medical Center.

Mr. Wilhoit retired from Magnavox.

He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran and a charter member of V.F.W., Andrew Johnson Post No. 1990.

Survivors include his wife: Naomi Wilhoit; a sister: Deanie Reese of Huddleson, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was the son of the late Ernie and Ruby O'Dell Wilhoit and was preceded in death by two brothers: Kenneth Wilhoit and Floyd Wilhoit; and one sister: Irene Landers.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home with the funeral service following at 8 p.m. in the chapel. The Rev. Hal Kirk and the Rev. Buster Shelton will officiate.

Family and friends will meet at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home to go in procession to Union Chapel Cemetery for an 11 a.m. committal service.

Pallbearers will be Roger Phillips, Ethan Starette, Doug Monroe, Gene Shelton, Howard Shaw, Gene Wilhoit, Eugene Broyles, Kevin Hensley, and Clark Hensley.

The family extends a special thanks to the nurses and staff of Four Oaks Health Care Center.
