Died: April 25, 2013

Howard Ralph Burger, 82, of the Mosheim community, passed away Thursday at Takoma Regional Hospital.

Mr. Burger was a farmer.

He was a member of Lick Creek Valley Free Will Baptist Church.

Mr. Burger was the son of the late Edgar and Darkus Dean Burger and was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years: Betty Burger; two brothers: Wayne Burger and Jack Burger; and two sisters: Marie Sexton and Kathleen Cutshall.

Survivors include his nephews and wives: Jimmy and Kathy Cutshall, Howard and Deirdre Cutshall, Harold and Judy Cutshall, Ronnie and Sharon Sexton, and Timmy and Brenda Sexton, all of Mosheim; nieces: Kathy Burgner of Newport and Michelle Painter and her husband, Jimmy, of Afton; his sisters-in-law: Jane Jeffers of Greeneville, Ann Hussey and Wilma Jackson of Mosheim, and Pat Southerland of Greeneville; his brothers-in-law and their wives: Alfred and Martha Franklin of Mosheim and Bob and Brenda Franklin of Greeneville; and two foster sons: Coedy Hinkle and Cole Johnson.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home with the funeral service following at 8 p.m. in the chapel. The Rev. Michael Mack and Buford Fletcher will officiate.

Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 1 p.m. Sunday to go in procession to Mosheim Central Cemetery for a 2 p.m. committal service.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Martin, Alfred Franklin, Daniel Cutshall, Timmy Sexton, Mike Martin, and Bob Franklin.

Honorary pallbearers will be the members of Lick Creek Valley FWB Church.
