Died: April 27, 2013

Sandra Wilma Rowland Moyers, 72, of Mosheim, passed away peacefully Saturday at her home surrounded by her family.

Sandra was born and raised in Arthur and graduated from Powell Valley High School.

She was a stay-at-home mother for many years before becoming a sales associate at Belk, retiring after 32 years of service.

Sandra was very active in the lives of her children and grandchildren.

She was an active member of Brown Springs Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir.

She was also an active Lady Vol basketball fan, attending games as long as her health permitted.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years: Thomas K. Moyers; sister: Jane Rowland of Mosheim; children: Rick and Laura Moyers of Knoxville, Tammy and Jeff Franz of Concord, N.C., Kellye and Russell Taylor of Chuckey, and Tony and Tonya Moyers of Dandridge; eight grandchildren: Greg and Abigail Moyers, Ashley and Brandon Taylor, Krista Moyers, Aly Taylor, LeAyn Moyers, Ryan Moyers, Emmy Moyers, Abby Franz; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter: Mary Leisa Moyers; her parents: Leland and Mary Rowland; and a large number of extended family members.

The family will receive friends from 3-7 p.m. today at Jeffers Funeral & Cremation Service, downtown, with the funeral service following at 7 p.m. in the chapel. The Rev. Samuel Parker and the Rev. Richard Long will officiate.

A committal service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Brown Springs Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Richard Moyers, Tony Moyers, Ryan Moyers, Russell Taylor, Jeff Franz, and Brandon Taylor.
