Betty Gray

Died: May 1, 2013

Betty Gray, 82, of the McDonald community, passed away Wednesday afternoon at her home surrounded by her loved ones.

Miss Gray retired from Magnavox after more than 35 years of service.

She was a lifelong member of Concord Baptist Church.

She loved the outdoors and was an avid gardener and loved to tend to her many flowers and plants.

Survivors include her beloved sister and brother-in-law: Patty and Rhea Sizemore of Mohawk; nieces and nephews: Becky and Clark Lipkin of North Carolina, Jerry and Dianne Sizemore of Oregon, Mickey Sizemore of Mohawk, Katherine and Tim Holt and Lena and Charles Lovell all of Newport; and her special friends: Billie Jo Hazelwood of Morristown, June Bible of Muncie, Ind., and Elizabeth Bandy of Newport.

She was a daughter of the late Claude and Bernice Dyer Gray and was preceded in death by three brothers: Willard Gray, Hal Gray, and her twin, Bobby Gray, who died in infancy; and an infant sister.

The family extends special thanks to Amedisys Health Care and Hospice Care.

There will be no formal visitation.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Concord Baptist Church. The Rev. Larry Jones will officiate. Interment will follow in Bible Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Concord Baptist Church.

Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
