KINGSPORT - Steven Lee Seeger, of the Harmony community of Jonesborough, passed away from a massive heart attack Thursday.

He was born May 11, 1962, and was the son of Charles and Ann Seeger of Colonial Heights.

Steve was educated in the Sullivan County School System and at the University of Tennessee and East Tennessee State University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in finance.

He had been employed by Greene County Bank (Capital Bank) in Greeneville since 1985 as an assistant vice president.

Steve was a sports fan his entire life, and most recently he was a huge fan of the Daniel Boone Trail Blazers. He had followed the Minnesota Vikings and the University of Alabama since early childhood.

Steve was an active member of Colonial Heights United Methodist Church for 50 years. He was currently serving on the finance committee and was a member of the Cross Training Sunday School Class

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Charles and Gertrude Seeger; maternal grandparents, Charles and Mary Lee Massengill; and two nephews, Hank and Heath Harvey.

Steve is survived by his wife: Angie Sherfey Seeger; sons: Mark and Grant Seeger; his parents: Charles and Ann Seeger; brothers: Chas (Patty) and John (Angela) Seeger; sister: Lynne Seeger Harvey (Greg); nieces: Heather Harvey, Christa Seeger and Reagan Seeger; and nephews: Chase Seeger and Abraham Seeger. He is also survived by Lynes and Gerry Sherfey, his mother-in-law and father-in-law.

The family received friends from 1-3 p.m. Sunday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport, where the funeral service was conducted at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Robert Burlingham officiating.

Music was provided by the Front Porch Singers.

The graveside service followed at Morning View Cemetery in Bluff City.

Pallbearers were members of the Colonial Heights Cross Training Sunday School Class.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Colonial Heights UM Church Scholarship Fund for Steve's sons or a designated fund at the church, 631 Lebanon Road, Kingsport, TN 37663.
