MORRISTOWN -- Emma Lou Moore, age 85, of Bulls Gap, passed away peacefully Wednesday at Morristown Hamblen Hospital.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Bulls Gap, a charter and 50-year member of Bulls Gap Chapter No. 471, Order of the Eastern Star, as well a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post No. 9683.

Mrs. Moore retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 29 1/2 years of service.

Survivors include her sons: Danny (Vickie) Moore of Morristown and Jarrell (Jan) Moore of Bulls Gap; sisters: Ruth Kinley of Bulls Gap and Lois (Van) Fisher of Knoxville; as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband: James "Jim" Moore; parents: James L. and Ada B. Ambrose; brother: Jimmy Ambrose; and sisters: Irene Busler-Heitman and Dorothy Bowman.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Friday in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home in Morristown followed by the funeral service at 8 p.m.

An Eastern Star service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the East Chapel of the funeral home. At its conclusion, family and friends will proceed to Hamblen Memory Gardens for interment.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shrine Hospital for Children, c/o Kerbella Shrine Center, P.O. Box 868, Knoxville, TN 37901, or the Hawkins County Rescue Squad.
