Died: June 24, 20113

Nahum Martinez, 25, of Bandy Road, Greeneville, passed away Monday in the Nolichuckey River.

Mr. Martinez was an employee of Used Pallets Recycling Company.

He was a member of Notre Dame Catholic Church.

He played in the band "Diamond." He also loved to play music in the church.

He was a very kind and loving brother and uncle.

He was a very hard working, goal-oriented, and respectful son, who helped his parents every way that he could.

Survivors include his parents: Renato and Maria Martinez; five sisters and brothers-in-law: Rosa Martinez and Rogelio Gutierrez, Roberta Martinez Vidal and Apolinar Gaspar, Maria del Carmen Martinez Vidal and Iliberio Martinez, all of Shelby, N.C., Maria G. Martinez Vidal and Jesus Martinez of Greeneville, and Silvia Martinez of Mexico; and three brothers: Amado Martinez, Librado Martinez, and Noe Martinez.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home with the funeral service following at 8 p.m. in the chapel. The Rev. Dwayne Casteel will officiate.
