Robert 'Bob' Bergquist

Died: June 25, 2013

CLEVELAND -- Robert "Bob" Bergquist, age 81, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday evening in a Chattanooga hospital.

Mr. Bergquist was the son of the late Frances McPheeters Bergquist and Frank O. Bergquist. His wife, Pauline Bergquist, and his brother, James C. Bergquist, also preceded him in death.

He retired from International Harvester as a supervisor with more than 19 years of service. He also drove a truck for Snyder Trucking for five years.

Mr. Bergquist was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, and he served on the aircraft carrier USS Philippine Sea.

He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 84, and the 40/8 Organization.

Mr. Bergquist was a 32nd degree Mason and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Angola, Ind.

He was a member of the Scottish Rite and the Mipazh Shrine Temple, both in Fort Wayne, Ind.

He was an avid bowler and fisherman and he enjoyed being on the water.

Mr. Bergquist was of the Christian faith.

Survivors include his brother, Ron Bergquist and his wife, Patty, of Greeneville; his sister: Jean Keuneke of Fort Wayne; and several nieces and a nephew.

The Remembrance of Life graveside service and interment will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. from the Sunset Memorial Gardens. Military honors will be given.

The North Ocoee Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes has charge of the arrangements.
