Died: July 1, 2013

MORRISTOWN - Doyle M. Officer, 79, of Morristown, went to be with the Lord Monday at Memorial Health Care System in Chattanooga.

He was a member of Russellville Baptist Church.

Doyle was also a member of the United States Army and served in Germany during the Korean War.

He retired from Hale Brothers after 40 years of service and was employed by Short Mountain Silica at the time of his death.

He was preceded in death by his wife of more than 20 years: Mary Officer; parents: Amos and Rosa Officer; and brothers: Jack and Wallace Officer.

He is survived by his sons: Nathan (Katherine) Officer, and stepsons: Martin (Tina) Worthington and Stacy (Tammy) Worthington; four grandchildren; two brothers: Joe and C. L. Officer; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, July 4, in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, also at Allen Funeral Home.

Military honors and interment will follow in Hamblen Memory Gardens.
