Died: July 18, 2013

Cleophia S. Barger, 70, of the Cross Anchor community, passed away Thursday morning at her home.

She retired after 20 years of service from the U.S. Postal Service and was a longtime dairy farmer.

Mrs. Barger was a member of Union Temple United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 49 years: Bobby K. Barger; two daughters: Annette Barger Guelli and Rachel A. Barger and companion, Joey Charlton, all of the Cross Anchor community; two granddaughters: Alexa Guelli and Corinne Guelli; brother and sister-in-law: Phil and Debbie Smith of Kingsport; three sisters and one brother-in-law: Faye Dean Baxter Bright, Betty and Jimmy Gaddis, and Patricia Wattenbarger, all of Greene County; several nieces and nephews; a special aunt: Geraldine King; and her loving dog: Toby.

She was the daughter of the late Verlin and Audrey Gass Smith and was preceded in death by three brothers-in-law: Milburn Baxter, Jamie Bright, and Phil Wattenbarger.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Saturday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home with the funeral service following at 8 p.m. in the chapel. The Rev. Richard Bowers and the Rev. Sam Smith will officiate.

Family and friends will meet at noon Sunday at the funeral home to go in procession to Cross Anchor Cemetery for a 1 p.m. committal service.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Moore, Larry Moore, Charles Baxter, Ronnie Baxter, Dalton Wright, Jock Jones, and Brett Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be Freddie Pitt, Bud McKinney, Lance McKinney, Kaleb Pitt, Steve Brown, Kenneth Brown and everyone at Kenneth Brown Garage, Guy Myers, Phil Justis, Glen Smith, Bobby Crews, Rusty Ottinger, Tommy Seay, A.L. Duckworth, Sam Guelli, Jamie Moore, Justin Moore, Josh Moore, Aaron Baxter, and Isaiah Baxter, Dr. Dharmen Patel and staff, Dr. Maynard Austin, all of her wonderful classmates of Baileyton High School, and her co-workers at the U.S. Post Office.
