Tony G. Lee Jr.

Died: July 29, 2013

On July 29, our beloved husband, father, brother, and son, Tony G. Lee Jr., 58, went home to be with our Lord after passing unexpectedly from a massive heart attack on the day of his father's funeral.

He was preceded in death by Tony G. Lee Sr. and a daughter, Nicole Lee.

Tony is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years: Regina Marie Scine Lee; his children: Stacie Lee Wilkins, Kellie Lee, and Davis Lee; his mother: Joan E. Sharp Lee; and sisters: Elizabeth Lee, Mary Rentschler, and Rebecca Hansen. He had six grandchildren: Caleb, Luca, Atticus and Gavin Wilkins, as well as Frances and Isabel Moore.

Tony served his country in the U.S. Navy for more than six years. He was honorably discharged in 1980 as a Second Class Petty Officer Radioman on the submarine USS James Monroe.

While in Florida, Tony pursued his love of justice through martial arts, as a third degree black belt in Cuong Nhu, training police SWAT teams, and teaching youth and adults self-defense.

While raising a family, he graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and a minor in Latin American studies. He received a PhD/JD (joint degree) from Florida Coastal School of Law in 1999.

After moving to Greeneville in 2004, Tony practiced family, criminal and civil rights law.

He was truly a warrior for the underprivileged and misrepresented, and for his family both in faith and actions.

The family will receive friends at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. David Woody and the Rev. Jeannie Higgins will officiate.

Burial will follow in Andrew Johnson National Cemetery with military honors.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Asbury UM Church.
