Died: Aug. 1, 2013

Julia "Julie" Lucille Cohen, 73, passed away Thursday at her home in Johnson City.

Survivors include her husband: Kenneth R. Cohen; two sons: Kevin Cohen of Hampton, Va., and Keith and Lindy Cohen of Mosheim; her granddaughter: Katie Cohen of Hampton; two sisters: Katherine Stewart and Brenda Crum of Chuckey; five brothers: George and Marie Thompson, Ruble Thompson, Harold and Carolyn Thompson, Bill and Marie Thompson, and Donnie and Vivian Thompson; two sisters-in-law: Carol Thompson and Ann Thompson; a brother-in-law: Patrick Gray; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents: James and Bertha Thompson; four brothers: Jack Thompson, Edward Thompson, Eugene Thompson, and Leland Thompson; and two sisters: Patricia Gray and Mary E. Wahler.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 1-3 and 5-7 p.m. at Jeffers Funeral & Cremation Service, Afton.

The funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday in the Afton Chapel. The Rev. Sarah Emrich and the Rev. Joe Miller will officiate.

Family and friends will meet at 9 a.m. Monday at Jeffers Afton Chapel to go in procession to Cedar Grove Cemetery for a 10 a.m. committal service.

Active pallbearers will be Billy Ray Crum, Jordan Ball, Chris Ball, John Ball, Brandon Gray, and James Thompson.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Greenwood United Methodist Church Building Fund would be greatly appreciated and acknowledged by the family.
