Died: July 31, 2013

Lawrence Fry Jr., 91, of Greeneville, passed away Wednesday at Life Care Center of Greeneville.

He had been in the grocery business since a very young age and continued until he retired from the Food City Store on Snapps Ferry Road.

Mr. Fry was a member ofæ First Church of God, where he was the head usher for a number of years.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

He was the son of the late Pauline (Luttrell) and Lawrence Fry Sr. and the widower of Dorothy Wilhoit Fry, his wife of 63 years.

Survivors include a brother: W.D. Fry of Greeneville; a sister: Phyllis Fry Verran of Greeneville; two sisters-in-law: Edith Ransom and Irene Fillers, both of Greeneville; a special nephew: Chris Wilson of Greeneville; a special niece: Sherry Wilson Curl of Jefferson City; and several other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister: Marie Fry Crumley; a brother: Clifford Fry; two nephews: Gary Crumley and Michael Barham; and a niece: Debra Crumley.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to -1 p.m. Tuesday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home with the funeral service following at 1 p.m. in the chapel. The Rev. Steven Aiken will officiate.

Interment will be in Andrew Johnson National Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Gary Fillers, Larry Crumley, Beaux Southern, Delmas Curl, Chris Wilson, Randy Fry, and Kenneth Wilhoit.
