Jerry Kenneth Harmon

Died: Aug. 11, 2013

Jerry Kenneth Harmon, 80, of Union Road, Greeneville, passed away Sunday morning at Laughlin Memorial Hospital.

He retired from Magnavox after 47 years of services and was a farmer.

He was of the Baptist faith.

Jerry enjoyed riding horses, going to flea markets, and farming.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years: Hilda Reed Harmon; one daughter and son-in-law: Patricia "Pat" and Larry Davis; one son and daughter-in-law: Michael and Rebecca Harmon; three grandchildren and spouses: Shane and Kim Turner, Brandy Norton, and Jeremy and Stephanie Harmon, all of Greeneville; his stepgrandsons and their wives: Jimmy and Leia Davis of Morristown and John and Tonya Davis of Nashville; his great-grandchildren: Christopher Starnes, Levi Turner, Gavin Norton, and Elijah Harmon; his stepgreat-grandchildren: Austin Holland, Hayden Davis, and Cade Davis; a sister-in-law: Dossie Harmon of Virginia; and several nieces, nephews, and special friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Lola and Milburn "Bud" Harmon; two brothers: J.T. and Donnie Harmon; and one sister: Patsy White.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Doughty-Stevens Chapel. The Rev. Eddie Malone will officiate. Interment will follow in Cross Anchor Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Shane Turner, Justin Bowman, Austin Holland, Terry Kirkpatrick, Walter Renner, and Melvin Renner.

Honorary pallbearers will be James Hatmaker, Jackie Kirkpatrick, Buddy Brown, Herb Martin, and his friends at the Greeneville Livestock Market.

The Harmon family expressed special thanks to Dr. Stephen Flohr and to the nurses and staff of ICU, third floor, and 4-East at Laughlin Memorial Hospital.
